Submission

Please send your full manuscript through online submission system

We welcome the following types of contributions:

1. Full-length and letter-length papers describing original research and/or novel applications
2. Well researched review/survey articles
3. Work-in-progress reports on promising developments
4. Case studies and best practice articles prepared by industry experts
5. Tutorials on up-and-coming technological breakthroughs

It is expected that 80% of published contents would fall under categories 1) and 2). Although categories 3)-5) should make up only 20% of published contents, category 3) is intended to be an important feature of the journal. It will be a venue for publishing ‘spot the trend’ or ‘you saw it here first’ types of contributions. This reinforces the forward looking nature of the journal

We expect readers and contributors to come from the wide spectrum of computing/IT communities including academic and industrial researchers, industrial managers and practitioners, IT consultants, educators, and employees of related government agencies, as well as policy makers in the public and private sectors.

Submitted papers are assumed to contain no proprietary material unprotected by patent or patent application; responsibility for technical content and for protection of proprietary material rests solely with the author(s) and their organizations and is not the responsibility of JAIT or its Editorial Staff. The main author is responsible for ensuring that the article has been seen and approved by all the other authors. It is the responsibility of the author to obtain all necessary copyright release permissions for the use of any copyrighted materials in the manuscript prior to the submission.

Authors are asked to sign a warranty and copyright statement upon acceptance of their manuscript, before the manuscript can be published. The Copyright Statement can be downloaded here (PDF Version).

Authors are requested to follow JAIT guidelines for preparing their manuscripts. An article sample template can be found here(MS Word).

Copyright and Licensing

For articles published in JAIT, copyright will be retained by the authors. Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided that the article is properly cited, the use is non-commercial and no modifications or adaptations are made.
 
In exceptional circumstances articles may be licensed differently. If you have specific condition (such as one linked to funding) that does not allow this license, please mention this to the editorial office of the journal at submission.

About Paper Review


JAIT operates a double-blind peer-review process. All submissions will be assessed by two independent reviewers, and then followed by a final acceptance/rejection decision by the Action Editor. The following provides notes on each step:
 
1. Pre-check
This step will check whether the submission is within the scope of the journal, and whether the current version is ready for peer-review, and check the similarity with published papers. Submission did not meet above criteria will be rejected directly.
 
2. Peer-review
At least two review reports are collected for each submitted article. The reviewers will submit detailed comments on the manuscripts along with their recommendation of one of the following actions to Action Editor: reject, resubmit for review, revision required (no need for new round review), accept. 
 
3. First decision
When all reviewers have submitted their reports, the Action Editor will make first decision based on reviewer’s recommendation.
 
4. Revision
In cases revisions are recommended, the authors are notified to prepare and submit a revised version of their manuscript with the required changes suggested by the reviewers.
 
5. Second round review
The former reviewers will check the revised manuscript and provide suggestion as to whether the authors had addressed all their concerns.
 
6. Final decision
The Action Editor will check the revised version, author response, and second round comments, and then make final decision.
